her immeasurable soul is an exploration of two contrasting lovers discovering how to bridge the gap between them, or even how to begin to try. Throughout the piece’s four movements: pale ears, there was the night of terror or strident cries, on the other hand, and at last the sky softens (like a man in love), we follow the pair as they try to overcome their differences and eventually emerge from solitude and sadness into love and all-immersive madness, where their individualities fade in and out of focus and the lines between the two lovers blur.
The title itself and two of the movement titles are borrowed from Clarice Lispector’s An Apprenticeship or The Book of Pleasures, which also was the main inspiration for the piece. Special thanks to Juho Myllylä for his endless help and support with the composition.
