“Overall, I think the festival [Nordic Music Days 2024 in Glasgow] could have taken a couple of bigger risks in its program choices. The program was impressively diverse, but in places safe. The biggest risk in terms of the program was probably Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir's conceptual work of silence, Tacet: Extrinsic, which was performed alongside Sibelius's 7th Symphony. This provocative and challenging work had caused a stir within the orchestra. Still, unfortunately for some of the audience, Hildur's performance in the brass section had gone unnoticed in the concert.” Excerpt from ‘Breaths from the Nordic Music Days’, published in Kompositio, Suomen Säveltäjien Lehti No. 2 (2024).
