Seven for a Secret
2026
A series of performances and a score

Commissioned by Van Gogh House London, exhibited in Van Gogh House London at the Festival of Encounters
In Seven for a Secret, artists Hildur Elísa Jónsdóttir and Caz Egelie reflect on the presence of the three seamstresses who were living in Van Gogh House around 1873. In this performance, the space is activated by live interventions and sculptural elements developed during their residency at the house in July and August, drawing inspiration from visits to historical textile archives and gossip picked up along the way. While rooted in the house’s history, the work also engages with its current role as a museum, a studio and a residency. Through playful gestures and transient tales, Seven for a Secret invites the audience to stitch together timelines, textures, and truths, eventually becoming part of the play.
